Kent Flush Doors: A Fully Certified Fire Door Manufacturer
At KFD, we are proud to be able to offer fully certified and tested fire doors to the market that are third party certified through the BM-TRADA Q-Mark Scheme.
KFD has been an active member of the BM-TRADA Q-Mark Scheme for over 12 years.
You can find Kent Flush Doors listed on BM Trada's website as an accredited manufacturer of Fire Doors. https://www.exovabmtrada.com/en-gb/certification/certified-supplier-search
The scheme is very rigorous and audits every part of of the business from manufacture through to staff training. Periodically, as part of the scheme, we have to send door sets away for testing in a controlled furnace.
Below you can see the recent testing of one of our own FD30 door sets in action. This was a developmental and re-certification audit for our own flax-core door, which is one of the many different cores KFD offer. The door sets are installed onto a furnace which is then fired up to mimic a real life fire situation. As these are FD30 doors, they must endure 30 minutes of fire exposure and block passage to the fire in order to pass the test.
After the test is complete, the internal side is well and truly burnt after enduring 38 minutes - over a 20% overrun on the FD30 standard.

This goes to show the commitment KFD has for its clients in doing everything possible to ensure they get the best products and that the supplied doors sets will undoubtedly perform to the specified fire ratings required.
If you don’t use third party accredited suppliers, none of the above will be true, nobody is monitoring them and you have no guarantee that the doors will stop the passage of fire for the stated rating.
